Kerala Sheem, also known as Uri, is a popular climbing bean variety loved for its deep green, thick, fleshy and flavourful pods. It is an early-maturing variety and can produce beans over an extended period when grown in suitable conditions.

One of the most notable features of this variety is that beans can grow at every node, starting from the first node at the base of the plant. The pods usually grow around 6–7 inches long, depending on growing conditions. When cooked, the beans become soft and tender, making them ideal for home cooking.
